BraveBodies Beginners and Improvers yoga class in Southampton, Bursledon, Saturdays 9:15-10:15am, Barbara Helis-Bailey, prapadasana

This class is for those with basic experience with yoga — perhaps you have done some a long time ago and don’t want to start completely from scratch, but aren’t quite up to speed to move straight into an intermediate class. It is also for graduates of Yoga Basics, yoga course for beginners which also currently runs on Saturdays at the same venue, providing continuity and further learning — and also gives you a chance to spend more time with your friends from the course (we make good use of the cafe upstairs after class).

If this is your first time, please come a bit early to fill out a short form. Please bring your own mat and block if you have them…. if not, there are usually some spare ones to borrow, or you can also buy one at the venue.

Some words from the classmates:

“I have been doing yoga for a quite a few years, but have never been to a class that is as enjoyable as Barbara’s. Her knowledge of the body is impressive and I like the fact that she comes around the group to check and adjust our positions, so that I learn to feel when my body is doing it right. As someone who sits in front of a pc for most of the working week, I have really benefited from the way Barbara has pushed me to stretch out my body properly. An intense and professional class.” Siobhan Balfour

“I have attended Barbara’s yoga classes over some years now and find them extremely helpful, fun, supportive and friendly. I feel I have benefitted physically and emotionally from the exercise I get and greatly value the teaching and exercise opportunity.” Marilyn Frost, university lecturer
